Sorry for not blogging in awhile.&amp;nbsp; (I know 10 push ups!!)&amp;nbsp; This is a time a year that many people give up on their resolutions, and get either comfortable or lazy.&amp;nbsp; I always tell my clients, that this time of year is the best time of year to be serious, and get in amazing shape for summer.&amp;nbsp; Between now and Memorial Day, their is only one holiday, Valentines Day.&amp;nbsp; The major holidays and parties are over.&amp;nbsp; Now is the time to&amp;nbsp;be serious!&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am going to be walking the Jersey&amp;nbsp;Shore Half Marathon again on May 6.&amp;nbsp; This week I will be putting out a training schedule for that.&amp;nbsp; (It is less training than you think!)&amp;nbsp; I&amp;nbsp;will also be offering&amp;nbsp;3-4 long training walks on upcoming Saturdays for free.&amp;nbsp; I want everyone to have solid New Year's Resolution.&amp;nbsp; Instead of the old standby of "I want to lose weight," have a specific # in mind, and when you want to lose it by.&amp;nbsp; I do believe the more specific someone is, the more likely the success.&amp;nbsp; If you want to get stronger, pick a particular goal, it can be a certain # of pushups in a row, a plank for a certain period of time, etc.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I hope everyone is having a great Christmas!&amp;nbsp; I celebrated Hanukah with my family yesterday and my children will be back soon!&amp;nbsp; I can't wait to see them.&amp;nbsp; (They went to see their dad last night after the Hanukah celebration.) &lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; So why am I freakin stuffed, because I am freakin stuffed!&amp;nbsp; My last blog was titled, "I am freakin hungry" because I just started to reduce my calories.&amp;nbsp;So&amp;nbsp;it has been about three weeks now on Weight Watchers.&amp;nbsp; As I said in my last blog, I&amp;nbsp;was shocked how hungry I was in the beginning.&amp;nbsp; It showed&amp;nbsp;me once again how I was eating too much!&amp;nbsp; And as I stated before, the only reason I am not heavier is because I work out a lot and most of the food I overeat is good for you.&amp;nbsp; But the truth of the matter&amp;nbsp;is, it is calories in, calories out.&amp;nbsp; If you are taking in more&amp;nbsp;food than you are burning off, you will put on weight.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I&amp;nbsp;remember my mentor&amp;nbsp;always telling me that if you want to drop even 5lbs. you&amp;nbsp;are going to be hungry sometimes.&amp;nbsp; I was so used to being, I don't want to say full, but I definitely was not hungry,&amp;nbsp;my brain freaked out the first few days&amp;nbsp;writing down what I was eating.&amp;nbsp; By the end of the first week, I started not to feel as anxious&amp;nbsp;the way I was eating.&amp;nbsp; I could tell my brain was catching up.&amp;nbsp; (Info related to the anxiety you feel when you first start to change your diet is talked about&amp;nbsp;in the&amp;nbsp;last&amp;nbsp;blog.)&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; All this hunger talk got me thinking.&amp;nbsp; I do admit&amp;nbsp;that I am trainer that has to watch what I eat, and consistently workout to keep my weight down.&amp;nbsp; I have had to since I hit puberty.&amp;nbsp; I do have a a tendency to want to eat when I have high emotions.&amp;nbsp; It could be that I am stressed, or really happy.&amp;nbsp; I have to fight it all the time.&amp;nbsp; I think I was justifying to myself that I could overeat because I was eating good food.&amp;nbsp; I let myself always be full (not stuffed though) that when I eat what I am supposed to to lose some weight,&amp;nbsp; I had to make a huge adjustment.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; It makes me feel better that even famous trainers like Jillian Michaels deal with the same issues.&amp;nbsp; Jillian used to be over 170lbs.&amp;nbsp; She says that if her weight creeps up, she gets back to basics of counting calories.&amp;nbsp; She often says, it boils down to calories in, calories out.&amp;nbsp; We are all looking for the diet that is easy to stay on and that we never have to feel hungry.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; So why I am freakin stuffed?&amp;nbsp; Yesterday was the first day since I started that I did not write everything I ate down.&amp;nbsp; I didn't eat more than usual for a Hanukah celebration, probably less, but since I have been eating so differently, I really felt it.&amp;nbsp; Goes to show me,&amp;nbsp; you get used to how you eat.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Just to also mention once again, I know I don't have a lot to loose, I just want to be what I called before, my "fighting weight"&amp;nbsp; So why did I name this blog, I am freakin hungry, because I am freakin hungry!&amp;nbsp; Every couple of years, I keep track of my calories for a few weeks to keep myself in-check.&amp;nbsp; I decided to do this last week.&amp;nbsp; I am not at what I would call my "fighting weight."&amp;nbsp; I would like to drop LBS.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;I have read almost every diet book out there.&amp;nbsp; I love to constantly learn, and I am always asked what I think about certain diets.&amp;nbsp; Currently, I have a few clients on Weight Watchers, so I decided to try this since it is a "form" of writing down everything you eat.&amp;nbsp; Weight Watchers is my favorite "way of eating" program out there.&amp;nbsp; I prefer programs that you can eat real food, instead of shakes, or all frozen dinners.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;Weight Watchers changed their program a year ago. Points used to be based just on calories, now it is based on the quality of the food.&amp;nbsp; They calculate fat, carbs, fiber and protein.&amp;nbsp; For instance, a croissant and a piece of chicken can have the same calories, but the croissant gets more points because their is no nutritional value.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;So back to my being hungry.&amp;nbsp; Doing this for just half a week, made me realize how much food I have been consuming.&amp;nbsp; I usually eat good food (why I am not 100LBS heavier) but I still eat too much.&amp;nbsp; (800 calories of humus at night is still not good to have!!)&amp;nbsp; One reason I can relate with my clients, is I also have to watch myself.&amp;nbsp; I have been overweight, and I know the mind games we can all play with ourselvess.&amp;nbsp; &lt;br /&gt;In only half a week, I have dropped 3 LBS already.&amp;nbsp; (Although I am freakin hungry!!)&amp;nbsp; Whenever you change the way you eat, it takes a couple of weeks, for your brain to catch up.&amp;nbsp; At first, on MRI studies, your anxiety part of your brain lights up, not just the hunger section.&amp;nbsp; After a couple of weeks, the anxiety part of your brain stops lighting up.&amp;nbsp; It comes from our fight or flight response.&amp;nbsp; (Think 500 years ago, if you were hungry, you didn't know when your next meal would come - hence no Whole Foods to go to -and even if their was a Whole Foods, it would take sooooo long to get there on horseback.)&lt;br /&gt;I will keep all updated on my progress.&amp;nbsp; Hope everyone had a great weekend!&amp;nbsp; During the hectic holiday season, (it seems to be getting more and more crazy every year - they have Christmas in July now on the shopping Channels!&amp;nbsp; Soon it will be Christmas in January.) people seem to not put things in prospective.&amp;nbsp; Just because we have a few parties to go to, and the holidays for one or two days, people feel the urge to abandon everything they have worked for, and eat like the end of the world is coming.&lt;br /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;My challenge to everyone, do 5 minutes of some form of exercise every single day.&amp;nbsp; You can do core work, push ups, stretching, or just dancing around to some music.&amp;nbsp; I always tell my clients, you will be amazed what you can accomplish in 5 minutes - a lot!!!&amp;nbsp;
